In winter, when the days are shorter, the focus shifts from BBQ’s to backyard bonfires. Influences from abroad have recently seen us making Smores, instead of just cremating marshmallows on the end of a stick, as we previously did at our house!
Oven cooking is another treat of winter time. Students love being introduced to scones, banana bread, sticky date pudding and all those indulgences!
Food is so representative of an area, even more so in recent times with people being concious of food miles and sourcing local produce. Conversations around this awareness educates guests about current movements or trends.
Hearing how our guests spent their weekends back home often demonstrates how similar we all are. Most of it consists of food, friends, family and enjoying the simple things in life!
